Ceramic Media

Best for aggressive deburring, descaling, and radiusing. Abrasive action removes material. Lower upfront cost but shorter media life (500–2,000 hrs). Generates dust during use.

Steel Media

Best for polishing, burnishing, and shot peening. Dense, long-lasting (5,000–20,000+ hrs), minimal dust. Produces bright mirror finishes. Higher upfront cost but low consumption rate.

Hybrid Process

Two-stage process: ceramic first for deburring/edge work, then steel for final polish. Optimal for parts requiring both burr removal and bright finish. Best long-term economics.
